Crochet Granny Chevron Blanket TaDah!

Well I can hardly believe I am writing this - I have finished another blanket!  This is a granny chevron blanket.  I used the basic stitch pattern from 200 Crochet Stitches book (which is very good) x 7 repeats, which made the finished blanket 120cm (47") wide without the edging.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in Silver, Burgundy, Plum, Grape, Clematis, Teal, Lime, Meadow, Spring Green, Aster, Denim and Turquoise.

I really liked the granny chevron stitch, as you get the chevron shape without having to count the stitches all the time (I have had disasters with wave type stitches in the past).

The edging is 5 rows of double crochet (single crochet in the US) and the final row is from Attic24's Granny Stripe blanket here.

I have made 2 blankets in 2 months, but I don't think I can keep that pace up, as there are lots of smaller things I want to try.

LoveKnitting have a great special offer at the moment - FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING until 28 February.  I have used them several times and the service is excellent.  So stock up for your next project quick.

Miniature Crochet Animals - a crafting wonder!

I spend a lot of my time on the internet looking at what other crafters are making, seeing what new products are around and dreaming that if a day was 48 hours long, what I could do in that time ...
On one of my visits into the wonderful world of Etsy, I discovered a glorious shop called Su Ami, which sells the most amazing miniature crochet animals that you would have ever seen.

Su Ami has given me permission to share some of the photos of her menagerie with you and I think you will be in awe.  Remember some of the animals are only 12mm (0.5 ") tall and the detail is exquisite.

These photos are only a small proportion of the range that is available.  If you would like to see more of these animals please visit Su Ami's shop here.

Love is in the Air - Crochet Heart Patterns

I decided to make some hearts, due to the upcoming St Valentine's Day, using some great free patterns that I had come across.  I found some of really easy and some of them more difficult to get correct.

The larger two in the above photo I had trouble with, but it was the maker that was the problem not the instructions.   The multi-coloured one's pattern is here.  The pink one's pattern is here.

I had much more joy with those in the top photo.  The bright red one is super-quick and is here.  The pink one is good too, pattern here.

Finally this one is from Attic24's Lucy and is very pretty.  I especially like the rose.  The pattern is here

More inspiration for you.  I hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day and get a little spoiling from the people that love them.
